I have been working as a contract bookkeeper for over 30 years for various small businesses on the Gold Coast. As a registered BAS Agent specialising in MYOB Cloud Accounting options, I can assist you in setting up or streamlining your current processes.

MYOB Cloud Accounting

MYOB Cloud accounting allows you to accurately budget and then track your projects, track time billing for consultants, track deposits on orders and track salesmen productivity levels. It really can make sure you Mind Your Own Business! It also provides daily live bank feeds and is Superstream compliant.

Building and Service Industries

I have worked continuously in the construction industry for the last 32 years with clients ranging from home builders, commercial contractors (EBA Union) and sole trader Tradesmen as well as associated service industries. I have an up to date knowledge and understanding of compliance issues for contractors and employees, as well as a heavy focus on job cost control.

Forensic Accounting

Sadly employee theft is becoming all too common. I have considerable experience in finding and proving theft to allow prosecution. However, I have found that often theft has occurred due to lack of systems in a business that leave both the employer and employee unprotected. I am able to assist in setting up systems and cross checks to minimise the risk of theft or loss.

Accurate Reporting

I strongly believe in setting up accounts to provide accurate reporting to the business owner, rather than what is convenient for the Tax Accountant. Reports where the business owner can see at a glance if a certain area is outside of the budget, such as inordinate labour costs, material costs or salesmens commissions. Then to be able to drill down to see what jobs or projects exactly are exceeding the tender expectations.

Compliance

Australian taxation and employment rules are not only complex but extremely expensive if you get it wrong! GST is coded differently depending on whether the supplier is GST registered or not, making a GST Free supply, purchased or sold internationally or commercial or residential property to list only a few scenarios. Additionally all small businesses need to be Superstream complaint from 1st July 2016. I can explain the requirements clearly and set you up to comply.

Health Check

My initial consultation is free doing which time I can provide you with a general health check of your current accounting system including GST Coding, job tracking, compliance issues and reporting.
